Position Overview:

Our client is one of the oldest manufacturers of advanced test and measuring instruments for electrical power applications. Currently, they are in need of a new Technical Sales Representative responsible for the Florida region and part of Georgia. Candidate must reside in the Tampa metropolitan area. Client will not pay for relocation expenses, if not. If willing to relocate, you must show past sales relationships in this market.

 

You will be responsible building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers within electrical utility companies, electrical apparatus manufacturers, heavy industrial plants and/or anywhere that a large quantity of advanced electrical test and measuring equipment is used.

 

To be considered for this position it is important that you can show you have already built some of these relationships with key revenue producers in past positions.

 

 

 

Client Overview:

Our client is one of the oldest manufacturers of advanced test and measuring instruments for electrical power applications. When you say their name to your prospects, they will know you and listen.

 

           

 

Salary Range:

$52,000 base salary plus unlimited commission potential

Average first-year compensation was appx. $70,000-75,000.

 

 

 

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Company car

Duties Include:

  • Normal sales account rep duties include site visits, prospecting, cold calling, uncovering leads, following up with potentials presented through marketing efforts, attending and representing your company at industry tradeshows/seminars, giving product demonstrations and presentations, developing proposals and overseeing delivery of product.
  • Estimated that 30% of your time will be spent on back-office requirements, 20-30% on cold calling and lead follow up, 50-60% on client meetings and office visits.

 

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred
  • 4+ Years of experience selling to electrical utility companies, electrical apparatus manufacturers, heavy industrial plants and/or anywhere that a large quantity of advanced electrical test and measuring equipment is used.
  • Proven experience working large sales territories and the ability to successfully manage them.
  • Working-knowledge of electrical testing and measuring equipment.
  • Strong technical background
  • Strong sales skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS-Office)
  • Strong verbal and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel. Travel estimated at 60%.
  • Knowing the following is a huge plus: BSEE, electrical engineering, protective relays, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, power companies, substations, electrical companies, IEEE, Fluke, hypotronics, Vanguard, Doble, Manta
